It’s that time of the year again, more engineering works are planned by Iarnród Éireann to take place in both August & September. Here’s what’s coming up:
Ballybrophy Services
Engineering works are set to take place between Roscrea & Birdhill on Friday 14th, Saturday 15th & Saturday 29th of August; where the following amendments have been made for those relying on these services:
Saturday – August 29th
- The 07.00 Limerick to Ballybrophy service will be operated by bus transfer departing at 06.45 from Limerick to Castleconnel, making stops at Birdhill, Nenagh and Ballybrophy. A second bus transfer which departs at 07.40 from Nenagh to Cloughjordan which also makes stops at Roscrea and Ballybrophy.
- The 17.10 Limerick to Ballybrophy service will also be operated by bus transfer, departing at 16.50 from Limerick to Castleconnel (via Birdhill and Nenagh). A second bus transfer which departs at 17.46 from Nenagh to Cloughjordan will also serve Roscrea and Ballybrophy.
- The 09:00 Ballybrophy to Limerick will be also be operated by bus transfers from Ballybrophy to Nenagh, Birdhill, Castleconnell and Limerick, second bus transfer from Ballybrophy to Roscrea, Cloughjordan and Nenagh.
- The 19:05 Ballybrophy to Limerick will be also operated by bus transfers departing at 19:00 from Ballybrophy to Nenagh, Birdhill, Castleconnell and Limerick, second bus transfer departing at 19:00 from Ballybrophy to Roscrea, Cloughjordan and Nenagh.
Friday – August 14th
- The 17.10 Limerick to Ballybrophy service will be operated by bus transfer which departs at 16.50 from Limerick for Castleconnel, making stops at Birdhill and Nenagh. Second bus transfer that departs at 17.46 from Nenagh to Cloughjordan, making stops at Roscrea and Ballybrophy.
- The 19.05 Ballybrophy to Limerick service will be operated by bus transfers, with the first bus departing at 19.00 from Ballybrophy for Nenagh, making stops at Birdhill, Castleconnell and Limerick. A second bus transfer will depart at 19.00 from Ballybrophy for Roscrea, Cloughjordan and Nenagh.
Saturday – August 15th
- The 07.00 Limerick to Ballybrophy service will be operated by bus transfers, with the first bus departing at 06.45 from Limerick for Castleconnell, making stops at Birdhill, Nenagh and Ballybrophy. A second bus transfer will depart at 07.40 from Nenagh for Cloughjordan, Roscrea and Ballybrophy.
- The 17.10 Limerick to Ballybrophy service will be operated by bus transfers, with the first bus departing at 16.50 from Limerick for Castleconnell, making stops at Birdhill, Nenagh and Ballybrophy. A second bus transfer will depart at 17.46 from Nenagh for Cloughjordan, Roscrea and Ballybrophy.
- The 09.00 Ballybrophy to Limerick service will be operated by bus transfers, with the first bus travelling from Ballybrophy for Nenagh, making stops at Birdhill, Castleconnell and Limerick. A second bus transfer will travel from Ballybrophy for Roscrea, Cloughjordan and Nenagh.
- The 19.05 Ballybrophy to Limerick service will be operated by bus transfers, with the first bus departing at 19.00 from Ballybrophy for Nenagh, making stops at Birdhill, Castleconnell and Limerick. A second bus transfer will depart at 19.00 from Ballybrophy for Roscrea, Cloughjordan and Nenagh.
DART Services
Engineering works are set to take place between Dún Laoghaire and Greystones on Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th of September, there will be no trains operating between these two stations; where the following alterations are in place:
- No DART services will operate between Dún Laoghaire and Greystones. DARTs will still continue to operate service between Malahide/Howth – Dún Laoghaire only.
- The following stations will be closed during this period: Sandycove & Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill, Woodbrook and Bray (Daly).
Irish Rail also states: “The Leap Card used on Iarnród Éireann services can be used on all TFI public transport services within the affected area.”
Rosslare Services
Engineering works are set to take place between Dún Laoghaire and Greystones on Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th of September, there will be no trains operating between these two stations; where the following alterations are in place:
- Rosslare-bound services will operate to and from Greystones only. A direct bus transfer will be organized for travel between Dublin Connolly & Greystones and between Dún Laoghaire, Bray and Greystones to interconnect with Rosslare Intercity services at Greystones.
Galway & Westport Services
Engineering works are set to take place between Kildare and Portlaoise on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th of September, where the following alterations are in place following these works:
- Galway and Westport train services will operate as a rail replacement bus service between Dublin Heuston and Athlone. These services will continue as train services between Athlone, Galway and Westport.
Portlaoise Commuter Services
Engineering works are set to take place between Mallow & Cobh on Saturday 15th & Sunday 26th of August, where the following alterations are in place following these works:
Saturday 15th of August
- The 22.30 Portlaoise to Dublin Heuston service is deferred to 22.50.
Sunday 16th of August
- The 10.30 Portlaoise to Dublin Heuston service is deferred to 10.50.
Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th of September
Engineering works are set to take place between Kildare and Portlaoise on the dates listed above, the following alterations and amendments are as follows following these works:
- Portlaoise bound services will operate as a train between Dublin Heuston and Kildare. Bus transfers will continue the service onward from Kildare to Portlaoise.
